Q

We would like an autonomous driving demo at our own site.

A

We offer a trial plan for customers who are considering introducing this service. Contact us for more information.

Q

I would like to know what effects to expect from introducing this system.

A

In addition to reducing the workload, you can expect a variety of benefits from the introduction of this service, including the elimination of demanding, dirty and dangerous work and of labor shortages as well as a flexible response to fluctuations in production load. Since this is a subscription service, you can cancel the service in the unlikely event that it does not meet your expectations.

Q

I would like to know more about how this service is provided and if I can purchase just the vehicle.

A

eve auto is a subscription service with a minimum of three months. Vehicles are expected to become available for purchase after 2023.

Q

There are many transport routes, and it is difficult to know where to start automation.

A

Drawing from our past experience, we will advise you on how to proceed and select the best route for your company. Contact us for more information.

Q

I would like to visit an actual case study site.

A

You can visit the Yamaha Motor Hamakita Factory (Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture). There, you can see actual operation methods and customer innovations. Contact us to request a tour.

Q

I would like to know the details of the initial installation work.

A

The vehicle will be driven manually to create 3D map data. In addition, we will set a travel route, traveling speed, and stopping positions, and perform an autonomous driving test before handing over the vehicle.

Q

Under what conditions can autonomous driving be performed? Can it run outdoors on bumps and inclines?

A

This system can operate indoors as well as outdoors, including on uneven surfaces and inclines. However, there are some areas where driving is not possible, such as in dense fog or snow. Contact us for more details.

Q

We would like to know what users need to do to prepare for the introduction of the system.

A

A 200 VAC power supply is required for vehicle charging. We also ask that everyone on the premises be made aware of the precautions related to autonomous vehicles. We will explain the extent and type of preparations based on actual examples.

Q

Can the vehicle be stored outdoors?

A

We recommend storing the vehicle in a covered area.

Q

Can we also request that a trailer be provided?

A

We do not design or produce trailers, but we can make suggestions base on past experience. Contact us for details.

Q

Is it necessary to install guide lines, reflectors, etc.?

A

Our system does not require the installation of guide lines, reflectors, etc.

Q

Can the system be used in an environment where other trucks and forklifts are traveling?

A

Autonomous driving is possible in environments where other vehicles are traveling. For the purpose of autonomous driving, 3D LiDAR sensors installed on the top and at the front of the vehicle allow it to infer its own position and detect obstacles.

Q

Is it possible to operate multiple vehicles?

A

Multiple vehicles can be operated simultaneously. We have experience operating up to three vehicles at one location.

OPERATIONS AND SETTINGS

Q

What changes can the user make?

A

It is possible to change the route, the stopping positions, the detection area, and the traveling speed of the vehicle. Training sessions on operating the system are available upon request.

Q

Programming seems difficult, and I don’t know if I can handle it.

A

No special programming skills are required. We provide our customers with a map pre-configured for autonomous driving, and if they wish, we will also provide training on how to edit the map.

Q

I would like to know how to change the vehicle travel route settings.

A

The travel route can be set by selecting pre-defined stopping positions in the dedicated application.

Q

Is it possible to determine the current location and status of the vehicle?

A

You can track your vehicle’s current location, status, and battery level in real time on your computer or smartphone. For more information, contact us.

Q

Can the system be integrated with conveyors, AGVs, and in-plant systems?

A

Integration is possible. Options for integrating equipment are available. Contact us for details.

Q

Is it possible to run this system in the rain?

A

Autonomous driving is possible in a certain amount of rain. We have experience operating this system in rainfall of up to 10 mm/h.

Q

Is it possible to drive in reverse?

A

This is possible during manual operation. Autonomous driving does not support traveling in reverse.

Q

I would like to know the aisle width required for autonomous driving.

A

An aisle width of approximately 2 m is required. Contact us for details as it varies slightly depending on the configuration of the travel route.
